- Teacher noteWe are likely to find some disagreement between a) the YouTube video creator, b) the pool manufacturer, and c) our mathematics. Some students may have made the choice not to use the full 30 inches of the pool height in their model. That may turn out to be wise. In any case, draw their attention to their estimates from earlier in the problem. Were their calculations more or less accurate than their estimates? For many students, their calculations will be more accurate even if they aren't perfectly accurate. That's the power of mathematics.
