Act One

How fast is that rocket going?

Act Two

- Teacher noteThe launcher is 5.5 inches off the ground.

For the time, have students time it from launch to when it hits the ground.

Act Three

- Teacher noteI don't have a visual answer. But I recommend having students use the projectile motion model h(t)=-16t^2+v0t+h0 --> Students can determine the time it was in the air and substitute for initial height, time, and height at that time (ground level). Students must understand this is an estimate due to air resistance not being factored in.

How fast would the rocket have to travel to reach 200 feet in the air?
